Benefit from the Oilpatch Technical Training Program

Explore the what, when, where, and why of production, transfer, and storage of produced products with our oilpatch technical training program. In this program, available onsite and virtually, we emphasize the foundational aspects of operations, materials, and components crucial for effective oilpatch management.

Training Coverage

Oil and Gas Overview of Fundamentals

Discuss operation, materials, components, and what, why, when, and where oil and gas products can be found.

Drilling and Pre-Production:

Understand drilling fundamentals and the differences between vertical (conventional) and directional or horizontal (unconventional) drilling. Also covered are shale production locations, casing setting, installing, running, and landing, preventing blowouts, perforating, fractionating, cementing, and using packers, producing secondary gas at a casing head outlet, and pre-production flowback.

Upstream Production:

Transition from flowback to production, tank battery operations, and separators (vertical/horizontal, FWKO, gun barrel style). Learn wet and dry gas separation, 2/3 phase separation allocation and royalty obligations to leaseholders, hydrocarbon production, custody transfer at truck and railhead, injection from tank to gathering system pipeline, and LACT/ACT operations, which include ATG and HTG tank level transfer, gas compressors, and artificial gas lift, water/stream flood, etc.

Mechanical and Structural Equipment:

Overview of pipes, fittings, flange materials and specifications, valve components fabrication and installation, and crude and NGL storage tanks and vessels.

Electronics and Data Communication:

Measurement of primary monitoring and control components like pressure transducers, transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, with field proving and lab calibration, mass vs. volume specific gravity vs. density, meter calibration vs. onsite proving, level and interface detection, and SCADA, PLC, RTUs, and industrial computer systems for control and monitoring.

Analytical Devices:

Learn to use portable and laboratory analyzers such as calorimeters, H2S and H2O detection, density, BS&W measurements, and process alarm devices.

Meeting Requirements

Discussion on meeting industry standards set by the ASME, NIST, ANSI, API, AGA, GPA, BLM, NACE, CS/USA, and complying with EPA, TECQ, BLM, and local regulations, as well as safety requirements from  OSHA, BLM, API, and corporate entities.

Marketing Partners

Meet distributors, system integrators, fabricators, OEMs, and engineering, procurement, and construction representatives.
